One of the main activities of 330 Consulting to date has been running investment-related educational events, primarily aimed at Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Elected Members (the 'trustees') and Officers.
The first 330 Consulting educational event, held in January 2013, was on the topic of Social Housing, which was a half day event attended by LGPS Officers and Members. Subsequent events have covered more than a single investment topic, and been supported by a number of external investment management firms. The Pensions Management Institute has accredited my events to count towards an appropriate PMI CPD program.
Whilst the primary aim of the multi-topic events is to provide educational opportunities to pension fund trustees and staff, the differentiating factor has been the line up of investment and politically-themed presentations. A number of external speakers have spoken at my events, and the feedback on having such an approach has been extermely favourable.
To date, 29 different pension funds have been represented at my events, along with representatives of the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum, The Pensions Regulator, PLSA, and the Department for Communities and Local Government.
No future events planned at the moment.
